About Us
Three Rivers Umpires Association
From the Beginning until Now
Three Rivers Umpires Association (TRUA) was formed as an offshoot of Tri-City Umpires Association from Coon Rapids in 1985. We originally covered Dayton, Rogers, Elk River, and Albertville mainly doing slo-pitch. We now register umpires from ages 12 to 85 and cover many Big West fast pitch associations and some men’s slo-pitch in a large area in the west and north Suburbs.
We mainly umpire girl’s fast pitch softball and men’s slo-pitch. Our umpires have different experience levels ranging from elite to beginner. In addition, we have a very strong training program for all levels of umpires. Three Rivers uses a state of the art online assigning system which allows our umpires to select the games including days and times they want to cover. We are a USA Softball sanction association affiliated with Big West and Minnesota Softball. We cover their leagues, Qualifiers, State and Monsta games, as well as their Fall League. Our season is from May to October.
Our Association has a number of programs to help all levels of umpires in the areas of uniforms, mechanics, and rules. Furthermore, we have an umpire reward program and an advancement program to reward umpires for their improvement and extra effort. We are an open and transparent organization willing to work with and aid any and all who need our help.
